What the service is

Makercrest City is a digital city where public websites and supported individual social profiles may be displayed as ranked buildings and Registry listings. A listing is advertising and status placement only. It is not land, property, equity, an investment, a security, or a promise of resale value, traffic, revenue, or permanence.

We may change, pause, or discontinue features as the service develops.

Using the site

You may browse the public city and follow its external links. You must not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit malicious material, or use it in a way that violates applicable law or another person’s rights.

Public listings

A paid listing represents a submitted public website or supported individual X, LinkedIn, or GitHub profile. It does not verify ownership, identity, endorsement, or legitimacy. You must provide accurate information and have the right to submit any content or marks you provide. We may extract publicly available names, descriptions, favicons, and images; profile details may be limited when a platform restricts access.

A listing’s building family, facade colour, and any supported glass tint are chosen before purchase and cannot be changed afterward. Public metadata may be refreshed from the same URL. We may reject, remove, or restrict listings involving malware, illegal content, deceptive impersonation, infringement, abuse, or valid legal requests.

Ranking and placement

Confirmed cumulative spend determines rank. A checkout estimate is only a projection: placement is recalculated from authoritative records after payment confirmation and can change whenever another listing spends more. Equal totals keep the listing that reached that total first.

Standard claims start at the displayed minimum. If a payment does not place a listing within the available city plots, it remains visible in the Registry until its confirmed spend earns an in-city rank. Crown Quarter landmarks are held by the top two eligible listings at the required threshold and are never permanent; a higher-spending listing can displace one without erasing the displaced listing’s spend, identity, or unlocked upgrades.

Payments

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments using the checkout details shown before purchase. Amounts are whole-dollar contributions subject to the displayed minimum; localized currency conversion and tax may be added by the payment provider. A listing is published or upgraded only after a valid payment confirmation is received by our server.

The first confirmed payment binds the payment customer to one listing, and that customer may fund only that listing through the normal addition flow. Failed, cancelled, mismatched, or unconfirmed payments do not change rank.

Refunds, disputes, and reversals

Payments are voluntary and generally non-refundable. We do not offer voluntary refunds for a later change in rank or placement. A payment dispute does not change rank when opened; if a payment is lost, accepted, charged back, or otherwise forcibly reversed, that payment is subtracted exactly once. Rank and level are recalculated, and a listing with no remaining confirmed spend is removed. Mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded still apply.

Third-party services and links

The site may use or link to third-party services, including Cloudflare, Dodo Payments, Tally, and submitted websites. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their services. We are not responsible for the content, security, availability, or conduct of external websites.

Intellectual property

Makercrest City’s branding, software, artwork, city design, and original content belong to the operator or relevant licensors. Website owners retain rights in the public names, marks, and metadata they provide. Submission grants us a limited permission to display that material as part of the listing and to promote the city.

Availability and disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, a particular rank, traffic, business results, or permanent availability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, implied warranties are excluded.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from the service or external websites. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, disputes, and contact

We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material updates will be posted here with a new effective date. These Terms are governed by applicable law without naming an exclusive country or court. Please contact us first at the email above so we can try to resolve a concern informally.
