Your analytics choice

Anonymous public analytics are off until you select “Allow.” Your choice is stored in your browser for six months. You can change it at any time in City settings. Selecting “Don’t allow” stops analytics heartbeats and removes the first-party analytics session cookie if one exists.

Analytics we collect after Allow

We assign a random first-party session identifier in an HttpOnly cookie lasting up to 30 minutes. While the page is visible, periodic heartbeats help estimate active visitors and visits. A deliberate listing-detail open records the internal listing identifier and time once per listing in that session.

We do not add a name, email address, advertising identifier, cross-site identifier, or fingerprint to these analytics records. We inspect the request user-agent only to filter obvious automated traffic. Our infrastructure provider may process ordinary network information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure the site.

Why we use analytics

We use these limited records to publish approximate Active now, Visits since launch, and Building views counters; understand whether the city is useful; detect obvious automation; and maintain the service. Public totals can be read without accepting analytics, and that read does not create an analytics session.

Retention

Raw anonymous analytics sessions and building-view rows are retained for 30 days, then removed. Lifetime aggregate visit and building-view totals persist so the public counters remain meaningful. Your browser keeps the consent choice for six months unless you change it or clear local storage.

Other information and providers

If you submit an interest form, Tally processes the information you provide. If paid listings open, Dodo Payments processes checkout and payer information; we keep the payment and listing records needed to settle, rank, prevent duplicate application, and handle reversals. Cloudflare hosts and protects the site and its databases. These providers process information under their own terms and may operate internationally.

Sharing and sales

We do not sell personal information, use these analytics for targeted advertising, or use them to track you across unrelated websites. We share information only with service providers needed to operate the site, when you direct us to, or when required to protect rights, safety, and comply with law.

Your choices and rights

You can allow or refuse analytics, change the choice in Settings, clear browser storage, or block cookies in your browser. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information. Contact us to make a request; we may need enough information to verify and answer it.

Children

Makercrest City is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through public analytics. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
